Empire Building

Green Nohohon at the Seville Tower

The Empire Building, more commonly called the "Seville Tower," is a 10-story building that completed in 1909 by architect J.E. Carpenter. Influences by the work of Louis Sullivan can be seen in the use of simple vertical bands of windows and the use of relief ornamentation. The Empire Building was the tallest in Florida in 1909.

Green Nohohon and I were running errands this weekend and decided to take a picture of this historical site. The building's towering presence made us feel really small, but Green is used to that kind of thing.
